Trading Hot Keys

Sometimes when I am trading two contracts, I will use my hotkey to move my stop to breakeven for one contract by hitting my space bar once. Sierra Charts will always then move one contract to breakeven. However, sometimes if I later on hit the hotkey to move to breakeven, the charts will not move the second contract to breakeven and sometimes the charts will. I have no idea why this is occurring. Any ideas? If you want to do a screenshare, I will show you what I mean. Sierra Charts are the best, in my opinion. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2023-09-13 23:37:17

Setup - you have two positions on the chart, each with working orders. You have selected "Move to Break Even" and it moves the first position's stop to the break even point. Now when you select "Move to Break Even" again, it is going to try to move the first position's stop order to break even. If that order still exists then nothing will happen, as it is already in place (you would get a message in your Message Log telling you this). If that first position was closed out (for whatever reason) then when you select "Move to Break Even" again, the only existing position's order will move, as there is no ambiguity as to which order you are wanting to move. Hopefully the above will give you the information to watch for and see if it is this. If you believe it is something else, then let us know. Since once I move my stop to breakeven then if I hit the breakeven hotkey again, why would logic not say that since I have two contracts on and I have already moved one to breakeven, then if I hit the breakeven hotkey again, it means that I want to now move the second contract to breakeven. Regardless of whether the first contract has hit its target or if it is just sitting there at breakeven now. I hope that makes sense. Let me know if you want to do a screenshare and we can go into sim mode and I will show you what I mean. Thanks. |

We understand what you are asking for, but it is not how the system works. What we stated above is how it currently functions.

Is there any chance that Sierra Charts will make that logic change so that when multiple contracts are traded, each contract will move when the "move to breakeven" hotkey is hit. So, hit the "breakeven hotkey" once and one contract moves to breakeven. Hit the breakeven hotkey again and the 2nd contract moves to breakeven. As I stated above, why does the hotkey code try to move the contract to breakeven, that has already been moved to breakeven, instead of moving the 2nd contract to breakeven since the 2nd contract has not already been moved to breakeven but the first contract has already been moved to breakeven? Seems more logical, don't you think? Sierra Charts are the best, in my opinion. I think this change will make SC even better. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2023-09-19 19:34:10
