I am trying to set a start and end to the trading day so that positions can be automatically closed at a certain time. However, when I click the commit button, I get the error "Server error: Operation not allowed". I'm not able to find anything surrounding this error in the documentation. Can someone shed light on this?

If this is a live account you are trying to modify, then those values are not allowed to be changed by you. Check with your broker to see if they can update these times for your account. Built-into Sierra Chart is an option to close positions at a set time. Refer to the following: Basic Trading and the Trade Window: A >> Flatten And Cancel at Set Time For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Thank you - sorry if I missed this in the documentation, but if you set it to disable auto-trading at a specific time, how can you set it to automatically re-enable auto-trading at a specific time?

It is not setting Auto-Trading, it is just flattening your position at a certain time. You would have to build into the particular auto-trading system you are using the option to only allow trading during certain times, if that is what you want. The Spreadsheet System for Trading, for instance, has this capability. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
