As far as I understand, the calculation method of the Value Area is weighted, so it depends on the volume per price level.
Is there perhaps the possibility to extend the study "Volume Value Area" by the calculation method "unweighted" (see LINK)?

Time Price Opportunity (TPO) Profile Charts: Volume Value Area

Starting from point 3: - Starting at the POC one row up and then one row down, then again one row up and again one down etc. Each row regardless of the volume. Once the set percentage is reached, we have our Value Area.

Is that possible?

Many thanks

It sounds like what you are asking for is how the Initial Balance is done. Refer to the following:

Thanks John, but I am looking for a different calculation method for determining the Volume Value Area (VA)
As I mentioned in the first post, point 3 explains how you determine the VA. You calculate the VA considering the volume - so weighted by volume.

I however would like to have the determination of the VA unweighted.

This means that after determining the POC and the volume for the VA, it always goes one row up and one row down and then again one row up and one row down etc etc.... until the 70% are reached.

Is that possible?

Many thanks

Okay, I see.

The basis for additional coding is certainly your Study "Volume Value Area Lines".

Is there a way to see the coding of your study?

Many thanks
