Sierra Chart does have Renko bars but maybe not exactly like that. You can also create your own custom chart bars: ACSIL Interface - Custom Chart Bars Also, check with that company to see if they make an option for Sierra Chart and/or convince them to do so. I have the open-source code for the free version of the KingRenko$ style bar. It just needs to be converted to SC. |

I can say for sure that the SC Flexrenko is not the same as either one of those. It comes close but not the same. Which is important, especially if the reversal bar is being used for a signal source. Comparing NinzaRenko to what you can do on Sierra you can almost exactly duplicate NinzaRenko. A NinzaRenko 6-3 is about the same as a FlexFenko using 6-3-2FR

Almost is not good enough. Would you jump out of an airplane and be happy with a parachute that almost opened as you crash into the ground? |

@Ticks. You're making a rather large assumption that ninzarenko is "THE BEST and MOST ACCURATE form of renko" bar. I don't assume it is but rather I do like the general format it displays and I do think that along with other supporting charts, time frames and indicators an experienced trader could use Sierrachart flex-renko charts just as well.

Don't place words in my mouth that I did not speak. Flexrenko does not match up bar per bar and tick per tick with either NinzaRenko or KingRenko. That is a fact. It does not take "other supporting charts, time frames, and indicators an experienced" trader or a one-week trader, to see that the bars presented on the chart do not match. All it takes is eyesight and common sense. |

In fact, if you take a a minute and compare them, flexrenko does match up extremely well to ninzarenko. Why don't you actually look before you type. Ninzarenko 6/3 compared to 6-3-2fr in Sierra. I'd say its a 97% match and even if it were 90% or 80% who is saying which is better. Ninzaco puts out so many indicators that it's admission by that company they don't know what is better or most effective to evaluate markets. |

I have Ninjatrader with NinzaRenko and KingRenko. So, I can look and I can use my brain to compare both NT charts with NinzaRenko and KingRenko verses SC charts with Flexrenko. So I don't have to guess what I think I might know. I know they don't match exactly because I can see it on my charts. I'd say its a 97% match
Did you finish high school? What part of "exact" that you don't understand? In what universe does 97% equal 100% exact match? You are not going to gaslight or BS me into thinking that my lying eyes really should believe that Flexrenko matches up bar per bar and tick per tick with either NinzaRenko or KingRenko. |

LoL. You're now saying I have stated in this thread that they are exactly the same. Do you know how to read? I see not. It's a shame. I have stated they are close enough and who knows which is better to trade off. Anyone trying to trade off just one chart or one bar type is making a mistake anyway. Ninzarenko charts are not magic. Sierra renko types are not either but a combination of period/settings and bar types gets a trader the best overall perspective for decision making.

You can have 50 SC Flexrenko charts up if you want. It still is not going to make the flexrenko bar type match up, bar per bar and tick per tick with either NinzaRenko or KingRenko. I have stated they are close enough
You don't know what "exact" means and trying to BS me into accepting your lack of education.I'm done arguing with an uneducated person. |

You're a funny person trying to belittle a stranger here in a thread meant to spread useful information. You're comment about my education is particularly interesting. It makes it obvious that you are suffering from some sort of inferiority complex, that you obviously need help with. No one has ever questioned my level of education, I'm retired at this point but I do have a doctorate in optics of the human eye and related optical devices. As to your continuing comment about the word exact, again, there is no exact in relating Sierra to Ninja only "almost" and "close enough" and neither platform is the best in all areas. The customizable Flexrenko bars in Sierra are more useful simply because you can tune the parameters more finely than in Ninja. Neither can tell the future from the past.
