This command opens the window to select a study, but "Open" does not start "Notepad++".

I downloaded a current version from your homepage and "Notepad++" opens immediately (after "Open"...). Where is the "error"?

Many thanks

We are not fully understanding the particular problem. It sounds like you solved it by downloading the latest release from us.

If you are still having an issue, then check the setting for the "Text Editor Path and Filename", which gives the location of where the editor is located to use when you select the Open button on that window. Refer to the following:
General Settings Window: Text Editor Path and Filename (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Paths >> Files and Folder Paths)

Hello John,

from my point of view everything is set correctly (see pic#1)

First I open pic#2 and after selecting the file in pic#3 I click on the button "Open". But then unfortunately nothing happens.

Your version from the homepage was only for testing purposes. If I transfer the "Sierra4.config" into the test version, I have the same problem.

When we look at what we have on our system we see that the Notepad++ executable starts with a lowercase 'n', but your path has it listed as a capital 'N'.

Open a "File Explorer" and go to the location specified by the Path in the General Settings (F:\SierraChart\NPP) and see if the notepad++.exe file starts with a capital or lowercase 'n' and then update your Path setting accordingly.

See if that resolves the issue for you.

John, it was written with a lowercase and I changed it. But same result... it didn't start.

After you try to open the file and it fails, open your Message Log (Window >> Message Log) and see if there is anything at the end of that log that refers to why there was an issue. Please post what you see in this thread for us to analyze/understand.

I did the same in the "test version". But the MessageLog shows a different address (see pic)

This is the address of my "Standard Version".

Does this file exist:

Error creating process C:\SierraChart\SierraChartTransActMA\NPP\notepad++.exe. Windows error code 2: Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden. | 2023-06-28 05:06:45.364
Error creating the Advanced Custom Studies editor process. | 2023-06-28 05:06:45.364

If it does we do not know what the problem is.

Okay, I understand. The SierraChartTransActMA subfolder does not exist. I also don't know where this subfolder comes from.
How can I make this address be accepted?

F:\SierraChart\NPP\notepad++.exe

Many thanks
