Apologies if this has already been covered in a post and I have missed it. When using the 'Extend to Future Bar Close Crossing' option, I have some issues when a bar closes at the same price as an extended line, then the next bar opens at the same price (or gaps a tick lower) then closes lower - however the line is still extended because a bar has never crossed and closed underneath. Attached is a screenshot that shows this, marked by the white arrows. You can see the extension in the middle of these two stops because the bar crossed. I understand that the name of this is 'bar crossing' so, technically this is working correctly, but is there a way that either a new option could be added, or this could be fixed so it accounts for gaps / bars closing and opening at the same price as the level? Thank you. |

If you are using the option within the Color Bar Based on Alert Condition, then instead of "Extend to Future Bar Close Crossing" use "Extend Until Future Intersection". This should cover the scenario you are wanting.

Hi John, Thanks for your reply. My hesitation with that option is that actually I find it's useful to see the extensions if price has tested them, but held. The crossing option is closest to what I want, I guess I'll just mark up levels that are 'invalid' with an extended rectangle or something. Thank you. |
