Hi, can anyone please help me get Data feed on the DOM? At the moment there are no numbers on there, just a 1 one both the bid and ask columns going up and down. I have tried Sierra charts own "instructions" but that has just sent me round in circles! Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks.

Be sure you are getting the delayed data, as you are on Package 5, so you should be getting this, and depending on the symbol you should be getting the Market Depth data.

Be sure to go through the following:
Global Trade Settings Windows: Troubleshooting Market Depth Data Not Displaying in Chart/Trade DOM Columns

Also, what is one symbol for which you are trying to get the Market Depth Data.
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:

Hello,

Thank you for your response.

You have said; Be sure you are getting the delayed data, go to "Global Trade Settings Windows:Troubleshooting Market Depth Data not Displaying in Chart/Trade DOM colums.

This I did do and as far as I can tell:
1. The Data Service being used does include Market Depth Data (that is: am I correct in thinking this is; SC DATA - ALL SERVICES ?)

2. I have checked if there is Market Depth Data being received by Sierra Chart from the Data Feed. I did go to FILE >> OPEN MARKET DEPTH WINDOW and there isn't data being received but I don't know how to remedy that.
When I referred to MARKET DEPTH WINDOW DOCUMENTATION it said "Sierra charts needs to be connected to the Data Feed with FILE >> CONNECT TO DATA FEED".
I went to FILE but there is no CONNECT TO DATA FEED there.
And this I was trying to do while the markets where open as the documentation advised.

Also, you asked; What is one symbol for which you are trying to get the Market Depth Data?
I'm trying to get Market Depth Data for the symbols in the example chartbook.

I am right now doing a market trading course with G7FX, I have got their chartbook and customised DOM on Sierra Charts and am getting data coming through however, i'm also trying to familiarise myself with Sierra Charts by toggling about with the example chartbook I got when I signed up to Sierra Charts.

Hope this makes sense,
Kind Regards

MK

Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:
Message Log: Clearing the Message Log

Close all of the Chartbooks with File >> Close All Chartbooks.

Open a chart for the symbol you have an issue with through File >> Find Symbol. Tell us that symbol of the chart. Tell us about *one* symbol only.

Disconnect from the data feed with "File >> Disconnect".

Connect to the data feed with "File >> Connect to Data Feed".

After the connection and after about 10 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:

We will then determine what the problem is.

If the symbols you are using are FOREX, then we do not have market depth data for the FOREX data.

Hello, thank you for your response.
I followed your instructions; closed all the chartbooks then using find symbol opened one of the charts I have in my example chartbook (US30), then TRADE and TRADING CHART DOM ON then disconnected and reconnected to the DATA FEED.
There was still no Data on the DOM so I have sent the message log for analysis.
Thanks

There is not going to be market depth data for those CFD symbols like US30.

OK, Thank you.
please tell me; Is this because of the package i'm on? Would another package give me Market Depth Data for CFD symbols?

I seem to be getting it okay for all the charts I downloaded from my course, That is, in their chartbook, but I don't seem to be able to replicate any of their charts myself in Sierra Charts and I'm finding it very frustrating.

It is not the package you are on. The FOREX and CFD data we get does not have Market Depth data.

O.k, thanks for that.

I'm now hitting another problem.

When I alter something on one chartbook, it's changing the same thing on all of them, i.e: GLOBAL SETTINGS > DATA/TRADE SERVICE SETTINGS and changing the INTRADAY DATA STORAGE TIME UNIT from 1 second to 1 tick, I end up with 1 tick in all the chartbooks.

Please tell me how to prevent this.

Thank you

You can not prevent this. That particular setting is global, so all your chartbooks will be set this way.

The only way around this would be to use a second Sierra Chart installation, but depending on your trading service, this may not work. If you want to look into this, then follow the instructions here:
