Hello, I was playing around with the study "volume by price" when to discover a huge discrepancy in the VPOC when I tried to "smooth out" the profile by changing the "Ticks per volume bar (ln33) input. I applied this study to a 30' chart and I just wanted to have the profile view a little smoother, so I increased the aforementioned input to 4 instead of 1 (default setting), so to have 4 ticks for each price level volume count instead of the single tick by tick. Doing so, changed dramatically the VPOC level shown on the chart. Attached is just an example of the issue, which comes from a 30' chart of the most recent CL contract (CLEM23). The more "granular" view of the profile is the default setting input (1), which shows the VPOC at 72.57 The more "fatty" view of the profile is the smoothed setting input (4), which shows the VPOC at 72.96 (39 ticks higher). I understand that using a less granular view will smooth out the single tick in a general area, and I am totally ok with it. However, here we're talking about a completely different VPOC. How can that be? This issue is present in every single market, not just CL (I trade ES, CL, 6E, GC) and the problem persist across the board. Also, if I change that input from 4 to another number, the VPOC changes again. Can you please help me out? What can cause such a huge different in VPOC? Another problem I have is when I display, side by side, TPO and VBP. Due to the fact that my TPO chart is smoothed out, this issue persists on this chart as well, and it cannot be modified since VBP will be identical to the TPO and cannot be changed. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, F. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2023-05-15 07:46:18
