When using a 2-27 or 1-54 Bar Period Value each one produces a different value area

Hi I'm using Point and Figure charts and when I plot a Volume Profile I noticed a discrepancy in the value area when using a 2-27 or 1-54 Bar Period Value, each one produces a different value area. Shouldn't both Bar Period produce the same VP value? I attached a screen shot of a VP value are of a 1-54 and a 2-27. Both have different values. What is the most accurate Bar Period Value to use? You cannot get an accurate or consistent Volume Value Area with variable time frame bars. We do not recommend trying this. Hi, I'm sorry but that doesn't make any sense, at all. The volume profile is counting the volume from the start point to the end point of the profile. |

when using a 2-27 or 1-54 Bar Period Value, each one produces a different value area.
Look at your pictures again and count how many bars are in each of the profiles.1-54 has 6 bars and include the down bar after the consolidation range 2-27 has 5 bars and does not include the down bar after the consolidation range Change them to include the same data and then compare the value areas again. |

This is not true: The volume profile is counting the volume from the start point to the end point of the profile.
The volume profile best fits itself to the matching bars and the starting and ending times are based upon the chart bars, not the Volume Profile. Thanks User431178, Your are right about the bars. There is a curtain way to select a start and end point for a volume profile that V-Zones teaches. What I'm seeing is different bars when using the 54 tick PnF vs the 2-27 PnF. Look at the attached screen shot taken only a few minute ago. 54 tick PnF on the left and the 2-27 PnF on the right. Why is there an extra bar in the 2-27 chart. BTW the way 54 tick PnF is 2-27 PnF. 27x2=54 Thanks Date Time Of Last Edit: 2023-05-08 15:48:53
