Adding Text to a Line or Ray

I found this, but I'm very confused: Attaching text labels to lines. I want to draw a line or ray, then have text appear with that line or ray. There isn't a function within the line / ray tool itself. There is a "Labels" tab along the top, however there isn't a field to write in any text. There's a box that I can check for "Opaque Label Background". I tried using the "Text" tool and wrote in text near the line. That's what this post is about: Attaching text labels to lines. But the "Modify Text" option only lets me change the text, NOT anchor it / attach it / pin it to the line / ray I have it by. While I'm here, is it possible to set a DEFAULT setting for my drawings? I'd like my lines to be white, but they are drawn green by default. |

In terms of the text, you can use the Configuration Name as the label by default. It does not work with existing drawings, just with new drawings when that configuration is selected as the default for that drawing. To add text to an existing drawing, you have to right-click on the drawing and select "Modify Text" For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Ok, I see. I have to PRE SELECT the labels via: Global Settings -> Tool Configs -> Line, then Labels Tab and then select the Config Number & Name... and apply those presets to future drawings.
