I can't figure out what's wrong here. I have a simple Spreadsheet Formula which returns true or false for each bar. It's working fine, I can see its output is correct. Now I want to know the cumulative sum for each day. Seems simple enough, Cumulative Sum of Study should do exactly this, but it always returns zero for all bars. If I change the study feeding the CSoS study, it works perfectly. But it refuses to work with a Spreadsheet Formula. Even if I make the Spreadsheet Formula 1=1 so that it returns true on EVERY bar, the CSoS is zero. Does anyone know what's going on here? Is it just broken now? Running SC 2492. Thanks. Maybe related, I get the same result if I point CSoS to a Study Subgraphs Average study. It's as if some studies are just not outputting a numeric value, and others are. Anything outputting bar values like a high or low, or a standard study that just outputs something of its own, work fine. But anything outputting a calculated result, don't seem to work at all.

Additional info... it suddenly starts working as expected if I go into replay. Seems it's related to not having market data running (it's evening Pacific Time currently and I'm exploring an idea on a chartbook with evening sessions disabled).

Most likely relates to calculation precedence Chart Studies: Study Calculation Precedence And Related Issues |

Yeah that was the first thing I explored, study order makes no difference whatsoever unfortunately.

Yes, it won't do, as the Spreadsheet Formula and some of the Study Subgraph..... studies are Very Low Precedence, whereas CSoS is Low Precedence. Result being that CSoS is calculated before those, irrespective of the study order. Study Subgraphs Average definitely works with CSoS, as long as CSoS is lower in the list (and as long as the input to SSA is not lower precedence). Date Time Of Last Edit: 2023-04-26 14:08:26

We just tried this and are not having any issue. The one thing we noticed that you need to be careful about is that the Spreadsheet Formula only calculates 2000 bars by default. So if you are wanting more data accumulated than this, you need to make sure that the number of bars calculated by the Spreadsheet Formula is enough to cover the time period for which you are wanting to calculate the information. Yeah it doesn't work for me even on just a single bar. I may investigate the precedence stuff but for now I've found a different way to approach what I'm doing so have worked around this.
