Hello SC team,

I have opened 5 minutes charts of XAUUSD from SC Forex Data (FXCM) data feed with both versions of platform .NET and non.NET (both latest 1149) and noticed two types of differences in data:

1) as you know, gold spot market has an hour break every day, from 21:00 to 22:00 gmt time. For some reason, this break was correctly handled in .Net version, but not in non.Net version. non.Net version still shows data within this hour, most of bars are flat obviously. At the screenshot you can also notice that an hour from 22 to 23 is missing (for this particular date)
2) overall OHLC prices are differenet for every bar, as for example I highlighted bar 2014-06-20 00:20:00 on both screenshots. I assume 5 minutes bars from the same data provider should look the same.

Could you please explain why these differences occur or what to do so to avoid having them?

PS. is there any reason why function/formula edit box on top is read only in non.net version?
Thank you in advance.

We will be reviewing this. But there is absolutely no difference in the way that charting works between the CLR and non-CLR versions. The reason for this is something else. So please do not make the conclusion that you have.

Also the CLR version, is really not .NET(which is garbage by the way) because other than with spreadsheets, it is all native C++ code.

Editing is meant to be performed at the cell location through an edit box:

I don't make any conclusions yet - sorry for a loud topic name.

I just did one more test and found the problem - as soon as I specified "Intraday Data Storage Time Unit" as "1 Second" in Data/Trade Service Settings for SC Forex Data feed for non.NET version I found that chart started looking the same as in .NET version. However, I decided one more time to change back the setting to "1 tick" and redownload all data - and the problem has gone. The chart in non.Net looks the same as in .Net... even hour 21-22 is not displayed..
Now I'm confused about what I saw and why...

Clearly you are looking at data from different services. Here is what we see from the SC Forex Data service on a 5 minute chart set to the US Eastern time zone:

Make sure the Service in Sierra Chart is set to "SC Forex Data (FXCM)". Right click on the chart at a point before where you are doing comparisons and select Delete and Download Data. The data should be identical. If there are differences, they would be very very minor.

Some basic things:

It is important to tell us the time zone that Sierra Chart is set to. Otherwise, it is hard for us to know exactly what point in time you are referring to.

This has nothing to do with the CLR and non-CLR version. That is completely irrelevant to something like this. What we suspect, is that you have had Sierra Chart set the some other Service at the time the data for XAUUSD was being downloaded for the times being compared, between the different copies of Sierra Chart you have installed.

I'm always using charts with UTC(+0) time - I think I showed this on a screenshot.

You are right, it might be that I had other data feed connected some time ago and now tried with "SC Forex Data (FXCM)" without deleting the data and as a result this sutuation took place.

Problem sorted, sorry for a wrong panic mode. Thank you.

You did show the time zone in a screenshot, and we did not recognize that.

From our perspective, we see a lot of screenshots, with lots of information and we do not always recognize everything.
