Hi. First time to ask for help in 5 years. I use SC on an m.2 HD in an external enclosure connected via USBC so I can work at home and the office without having to continuously update my settings/drawings. After shutting down at the office yesterday, I went to open SC on the home PC like I've done for the past 6 months and I cannot. It says the chartbook is no longer valid. Are you guys willing to look at the message log to see what may be my problem? I am still able to connect through other chartbooks from this same HD. The now invalid .cht will not open on my local installation of SC after copying to its data folder. How does a chartbook suddenly become invalid? thanks in advance, Michael Holifield |

The best thing to do is to use a backup Chartbook: Chartbooks (Workspaces): Accessing a Backup Chartbook File The contents of it if any, are not correct in some way: How does a chartbook suddenly become invalid?
It could have become corrupted perhaps by the operating system or file system. Or maybe the operating system just set it to a bunch of zero bytes which we have seen before. I was able to recover my studies using the backup chartbook. Weird thing, none of the prev 30 backup .cht would roll over to the June contract. Apparently writing to the external HD has its limitations, namely reliability. Thank you for the help
