SIM Account on Live Data Feed

Hello,

I just got my live account with Edgeclear/Ironbeam connected to Sierra live data, but I'm having trouble creating a SIM account to trade on the live data feed. When I try to add a new SIM account under Trade Account Monitor/"Add New Account" I get "Server Error: Operation not allowed".

Is it possible to have a SIM account on the live data feed, or do I need to connect to a different server to run a dedicated SIM account. I can trade SIM if I turn on "Trade Simulation Mode On" and find a history of those trades in the Trade Activity Log, but I can't locate this Sim1 account in the Trader Account Monitor, nor set a balance for it, etc.

Any help either setting up a new Sim account and/or finding the Sim1 account and being able to set a balance and view its history would be greatly appreciated -

You are getting a few items confused.

First, you have your Live account. You will be accessing this when you have your Data/Trade Service Settings set for Teton CME Order Routing. Selecting Trade >> Trade Account Monitor when you are not in simulation mode, will give you the information for your live account.

Second, you have Simulation Mode, which is the built-in simulation environment that you toggle on/off with the Trade >> Trade Simulation Mode On option. This option does not care what your Data/Trade Service Settings are (mostly - more to come on this), so you can be connected to your live account but be trading in Simulation Mode, if you want. This mode does not have a balance and does not give information in the Trade Account Monitor.

Then we have our Simulated Futures Trading Service which is a simulation environment, but it is setup as a Client-Server, like the actual exchange, so you need to change your Data/Trade Service Settings to Trading Evaluator in order to access this environment. Selecting Trade >> Trade Account Monitor in this case will show you your Trading Evaluator accounts and you can modify them if you wish. This environment only supports the "Trade Simulation Mode On" during replays.

It sounds like you are wanting the Trading Evaluator service to do your simulated trading. Refer to the following:

And keep in mind that you need to switch your Data/Trade Service Settings to go between the your live account and the trading evaluator service. If this is something you will be doing a lot, then we recommend a second installation of Sierra Chart. Refer to the information here:
