I am at the end of my rope on this. I have never been able to access duialy histopriocal charts for nasdaq, s&p, djia, or any other stock index. I can do other commodities fine. I enter cl and up comes years worth of daily data for crude. I enter gc and up comes gold. I enter nq and I get a red box on the screen that says "operation failed". What am I doing wrong?

Are you opening the charts through File >> Find Symbol?

After opening one of the charts, post a copy of the Message Log, by following these steps:

When I go to Find >> Symbol, it will let me input monthly (or in this case, quarterly) symbols, but how do I input the historic generic symbol to get historic data?

You are getting HTTP connection errors. Please refer to the Login Problems section here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/LoginInstructions.php#LoginProblems

All of the information given their applies to HTTP errors in general in Sierra Chart.

Most likely Internet Explorer is set to Work Offline or a third-party firewall is blocking the connection.
