In the Automatic Trendline study, I have selected the option to forward project the values of the UP/DN Trend Lines. This works. However, despite that the Chart Values window shows the projected value correctly, it does not seem possible to access this value in the Alert condition, which will use the value as seen at the last bar. I also tried to 'reference a future value' by using the syntax SG1[1], and this does not work. Could you provide a workaround, or fix this issue? |

We are not sure what the problem is. When we do this it works properly. The thing to keep in mind is that when you enter the Alert referencing the future value, it is applying that to the current bar. For example, if you enter the following for the alert condition: =ID1.SG1[4] > 4033.3 Then for the bars that are being tested in the alert, the test will look forward 4 bars and evaluate if the value of ID1.SG1 at that point is greater than 4033.3. And if so, then the bar being tested at that point will get the alert. If this is the last bar, then it is looking at the forward projected Trendlines to test against. Use the Color Bar Based on Alert Condition to see what we mean. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
