Sierra Crashing when updating symbols

Had to use the CQG order routing for Eurex trading. When I go to update the symbols from the standard SC Data, Sierra crashes. I do not have a log to send as it does this immediately. Please advise

EDIT: this occurs BOTH when switching data feeds and prompted to "translate symbols", AND when manually attempting to change the symbol on chart, as opposed to using the auto translate prompt

We apologize for the delay.

We understand that Sierra Chart is abnormally shutting down when you use the Translate Symbols command.

Do you notice this issue, when Safe Mode is enabled?:

does not occur in Safe Mode. updated data feed and did the symbol translation in safe mode and did "Save All" prior to closing the program. On restart, de-selected safe mode and as soon as it tried to load charts etc, SC crashed again. If I switch back to "SC All Data" this is not an issue.

Therefore, it is caused by a custom study. Refer to:

Sierra Chart Unexpectedly Shutting Down | Memory Errors | Unusual Software Problems | Exception Errors | Freezing of User Interface: Problems Caused by Advanced Custom Studies

Are you using custom studies? Did you build these custom studies yourself or get them from somewhere?

We will try to help you figure out which one is causing a problem and what to do.

Yes, I have custom studies that I use. Came from 2 different programmers.

Therefore we recommend rebuilding them for the current version. This should not normally be necessary and we do not think it is really going to solve the core issue. However, this is the first thing we recommend be done.

I will get this done. What do you think the core issue is? or is that not able to be determined at this time?

I have had all custom studies recompiled for version 2479. The issue still persists. Please advise

We do not know what the problem is.

Other than it looks like there is a stack corruption occurring.

Is the developer of the custom studies able to reproduce the problem?

One thing that we would like to know is what is the compiler being used to build the custom studies? Is Remote Build being used?

I will ask, and will forward this thread to him, it is one of the recommended 3rd party developers from your list.

Definitely it sounds like a stack corruption to us.

And if we know the compiler being used this will give us more of an idea about this.

we have resolved the issue. as you suspected, it was a setting in the compiler. have used these custom studies for 3+ years, not sure what about the "translate symbol" triggered the issue, but the setting change did fix the problem. thank you for your assistance
