I want to calculate the slope of price changes in a spreadsheet. This requires calculating the difference between the two times - for example A4-A3. But I cant seem to get A4-A3 to work properly - all I get is 0.00 Setting the cell format to time does not help. I assume I must somehow convert the values in A to seconds and then do the subtraction. And then convert the subtraction result back to decimal minutes - ie 121.33 minutes - no hours to get the slope in minutes. Does anyone know how to do this in the spreadsheet? Thanks |

Here's some info on spreadsheet time formats: http://www.sawtoothtrade.com/tip-4.html Since the spreadsheet study array is in descending order, A3 is a greater value than A4. To get the exact value in seconds between A3 and A4: =(A3-A4)*86400 Or in minutes: =(A3-A4)*1440 Or in hours: =(A3-A4)*24 Date Time Of Last Edit: 2015-08-14 02:02:11
