Any differences in reliability/robustness of how everything works running trade execution through primary instance vs sub instances in our setup?

No, we have tested this extensively .

Trading should be just fine in a sub instance. Sometimes but rarely a user will report to us, minor latency issue from the sub instance but we have not been able to reproduce that.

However, make sure you are on the latest version of Sierra Chart.

As long as you are using the correct symbols as they are provided for Interactive Brokers in File >> Find Symbol, you are not going to have an issue.
