I'm in the UK and I'm interested in using your Sierra Chart Real-Time and Historical Exchange Data Feed for the EUREX exchange. I understand your data centers are housed with Equinix, and that EUREX also houses with Equinix. Do you have any information on the route of the data from the Eurex exchange to your centres and on to me in the UK? I'm wondering if the exchange data goes to a US location for example, before routing to the UK. Or perhaps the data is routed to the UK directly from Frankfurt? Thank you, |

The data definitely goes back to the US in Chicago and then over to Europe again. It is not the most efficient route, but due to the speed of networks, it is not something that would really be noticeable. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. ok thanks Sierra. Equinix post their trans-Atlantic time as 400ms, so we're approaching 1 second for a round trip. I'm executing via IB on European servers which softens the Sierra Chart Exchange routing/time issue. My other best option is IQ Feed I suppose? Any and all advice is welcome. |

This definitely cannot be correct. We have pinged the Sierra Chart server from a London data center just now where we have another server. These are the results: PS C:\Windows\system32> ping scdf1.sierracharts.com Pinging ds6.sierracharts.com [8.18.161.131] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 8.18.161.131: bytes=32 time=104ms TTL=117 Reply from 8.18.161.131: bytes=32 time=103ms TTL=117 Reply from 8.18.161.131: bytes=32 time=104ms TTL=117 Reply from 8.18.161.131: bytes=32 time=103ms TTL=117 Ping statistics for 8.18.161.131: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 103ms, Maximum = 104ms, Average = 103ms We do not believe the overall latency is going to be more than 250 ms. IQ Feed will not be any different. We do not know exactly where their servers are but we assume they are in Nebraska or Chicago. So the data is going back to North America from Europe and then back to Europe. It is no different. We do not believe IQ Feed has any European location. That's good news Sierra, both on ping times and [the more expensive] IQ Feed location. Thanks, |
