In my primary instance, I defined some alert sounds and custom names. I loaded the sound files into the sounds folder with the factory files. When I shut down and then restarted the new alert sounds and alert definitions were not in the second instance. I guess I thought they would be copied over when the second instance was restarted. And the alert custom name definitions were also not present in the second instance. Copying the sound files is simple but creating the custom names and sound file associations is a bit cumbersome. Am I missing something?

The only time the files are copied is when you first create a new instance. After that, the instances are completely separate from one another and you would need to manually copy files that you would want to have replicated from one place to the other. In the case of the Alert information, the file you want is the Sierra4.config file from the main instance. Note that this has all the global settings for the system, so copying it may make other changes that you do not want. In general, refer to Step #5 at the following link for what information is stored in which files: Transferring Sierra Chart Settings and Data From Existing Installation to New Installation: Transferring Sierra Chart Settings and Data From Existing Installation to New Installation For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
