Is there an option to prevent the y-axis from moving or scaling while I am placing or modifying an order price on the chart by dragging the order line? This is especially problematic when the y-axis shifts as I release the mouse. When this happens, the price is different than when I released it and can cause an undesired entry/exit from the market. Ideally, the y-axis scale/movement would be delayed until after the drag event has completed. |

There is not a specific option to lock the scale while modifying an order. You can easily lock the scales though by right-clicking on the scale and selecting Scale Range: User Defined with Auto-Set, which will set the scale range as it is at the moment you select that option.

To be clear, I believe this is a critical bug/defect in the platform. If I place or modify an order (with auto-scaling enabled) at the exact time that sierra chart redraws the chart with a different y-axis, the price used for the new/modified order is not the same price at which I released the mouse. During a volatile or fast-moving market, this can result in a significant price different. I have disabled auto-scaling of the y-axis, but this effectively makes auto-scaling useless if I also want to use chart trading. If at all possible, please add logic to the app to prevent y-axis movement during mouse drag of the order line - during order creation and/or modification. |
