Hi, My broker is canceling TT data feed. I have to choose between CQG and Rithmic. I prefer CQG because it supports Server Managed OCO. On http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/CQGTrading.php I can see: Beginning with version 1117 and higher of Sierra Chart, real-time market data from CQG is now supported. Therefore, using the Sierra Chart Real-Time and Historical Exchange Data Feed when using CQG is now optional. I need to clarify this statement, I have different info from my broker. If I understand this well, it is possible to use CQG feed only (no Sierra Chart Real-Time and Historical Exchange Data Feed) for day trading - displaying intraday charts (1 min, 5 min, 30 min, 60 min chart) and Trading DOM, right? Thank you for response Jan |

Just to clarify further, I have SC Package 3 + TT feed through my broker. I am basically being forced to abandon TT feed, and if I choose CQG, all my current real time + historical data & functionality will remain, correct? That is, if I shut down SC at night and start it up in the morning, my charts would get back filled. I do not need to subscribe to anything extra. Correct? What is spooking me is this language from my broker, DeepDiscountTrading But the CQG Feed "requires" a Real-Time & Historical Futures Feed in order to receive real-time Intraday & Historical Chart Data I do not know what to make of it. Broker's email also go on to imply that I must now subscribe to http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php if I choose CQG, but you are saying that is not necessary, correct?

Yes.But the CQG Feed "requires" a Real-Time & Historical Futures Feed in order to receive real-time Intraday & Historical Chart Data
This is no longer true in the newer Sierra Chart versions. One thing to be aware of is when using CQG, the historical Intraday data will be delayed 10 minutes if you are not using the Sierra Chart Real-time Data Feed, but this is no different than using TT FIX through Crossland. To DarthSidious: I am in the same situation (DeepDiscountTrading, SC, TT Feed). After discussion with my broker, I have this information. To keep the same functionality we have now with TT Feed, we need: CQG FIX (order-routing only, no data; .05 cents per contract & $10/Mth) + CQG / Continuum Feed (real-time streaming quotes, extra $10/Mth) + Exchange data (U.S. Exchanges for $5/Mth per Exchange, Eutex for $23/Mth). This is significant price difference compare to TT Feed :-( Jan |

Jan, I would believe Sierra Chart Engineering over what the Broker says. What Sierra Chart Engineering is saying is that nothing will change (from real time & historical data perspective) going from TT -> CQG. Maybe Howard from DDT can clarify? As an aside, this is simply money grab from the FCM in face of dwindling trading volume. They probably just did a cost analysis of which feed makes them least money, and we are being moved around so they can now make more. I would just go ahead and ask Howard to move me to CQG, and deal with what comes. After all, I am not married to CrossLand, and can / will move if someone has a better offering |

A bit of clarification from Howard. Posting a relevant & edited version here for public benefit as we all are trying to get clarification of the same issue: SC has been configured to the CQG FIX which provides order-routing only (no data ability).
SC also mentions that CQG market data is now supported (but they never mentioned for Free) : http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/CQGTrading.php So it appears a minimum of $10 extra would apply to get real time quote from CQG. I am getting more clarification from DDT, and would update the thread if I get more information |

Dear Sierra Chart Engineering, Is it possible to transmit order & execute through CQG and not receive market data? I have been told that SC do indeed support realtime market price feed from CQG (also documented in http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/CQGTrading.php). What I want to know that if I do indeed need to enable data feed from CQG to get price data, or if that is not necessary? I am with TT FIX now, and notice that there are 2 separate tabs for setup, for example. One for Orders, and one for Price Feed, which leads me to speculate that it is possible to execute but not receive price updates. I need the data, of course. Should I ask DDT/CrossLand to enable just the order part and see if I get prices or would I just waste my time? Maybe they need to enable everything and I need to start paying for data & exchange data fees? Date Time Of Last Edit: 2014-05-28 13:56:24

Yes. You will still receive 10 minute delayed historical data. You can ask your broker to just enable orders for CQG. This will work. But you will not get any streaming data. Unless you use the CQG data feed or the Sierra Chart Exchange Data feed. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Right. That's what I thought. Well, I need the streaming data to be able to do any trading, so just enabling orders won't work. Thanks

DarthSidious and Thib, After long discussion with Howard and searching the web I have (I hope :-)) final resume. I can see that technical part of my info was already confirmed by Sierra Chart Engineering. If we choose CQG, we need to subscribe: CQG Fix ($10/mth, order-routing only) + CQG Continuum ($10/mth, data feed); after signing Non-Pro Trader Form we have access to all U.S. Exchanges for free; because I trade DAX, I have to subscribe Eurex data for $23/mth. Moreover there is fee $.05 per contract. Other option is to subscribe Rithmic feed: $0.25 per contract; no fixed monthly fee (all US Exchanges + Eurex) The final decision is up to each of us. Thank you everyone for your help. Jan |

Thanks User20615, but I haven't the same information. About CQG Howard tell me : "Starting from March 1, 2014, the CME GROUP (CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX) has decided to start charging for monthly Data fees. The price is $5/Mth per Exchange or $15/Mth if you select all 4 Exchanges" It's not too expensive, but it's not free. I trade FCE and I use Liffe Paris feed for 57 USD/month. |

Thib, if you sign the "non-pro form" (ask Howard about it), you will not pay exchange fees till end of 2014. This doesn't apply to Liffe or other exchanges. I am referring to US exchanges

Here is Howard's answer : "This is only true if you were connected to the U.S.Exchanges and submitted your Non-Pro Form prior to March 1, 2014" Before this week I was connected with TT feed and I hadn't submitted the form. |
