Is there a way to day trade Stocks using Sierra Charts in same way Tradestation offers ? Meaning it can be done commission free ? and What brokers can be used with Sierra Charts and what kind of data feeds are available ? Also with Tradestation you can see how many of the exchanges are making up a single bid or offer on their DOM. Thank you |

The only broker that Sierra Chart works with that supports trading stocks is Interactive Brokers. You would have to check with them on their commission structure. In terms of data feeds, we currently have two options, as each has a tradeoff. 1. Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed with U.S. Equities exchange - Has consolidated tape (fully volume from all exchanges), but does not have any Market Depth data. Refer to the Setup Instructions here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php#SetupInstructions 2. Denali Exchange Data Feed with NASDAQ TotalView exchange - Does not have consolidated tape (volume only from primary exchange), but does have Market Depth data. Refer to the Setup Instructions here: Denali Exchange Data Feed: *Setup Instructions: All Other Exchanges* For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

I have a follow up question related to this original question. If I set up a brokerage account with Interactive Brokers (IB) and use one of your data feeds for the stocks would i be able to use your Trade DOM's for the execution of trades or do i have to use the IB platform to execute the trades. The reason I am asking is because I have heard that the problem with IB is that there platform is not good for fast execution and not well set up for scalping stocks. So i am wondering if by using your platform and data I can somehow overcome this problem. If I were to set up an IB account (or not) is there anyway to trial something like this ? even using SIM mode ? I also heard that you may be obtaining/releasing some kind consolidated stock tape in the future with market depth. Do you have a timeline on when that might be ? Thank you |

You can trade directly from within Sierra Chart to IB for Stocks (and futures). The only "trick" is that you need to use our symbol for the main symbol for the stock and then enter the IB stock symbol in the Trade and Current Quote Symbol, and enable the option for Use as Trade Only Symbol. Refer to the information here: Chart Settings: Trade and Current Quote Symbol (text box) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu) If I were to set up an IB account (or not) is there anyway to trial something like this ? even using SIM mode ?
IB may have an option for trying this in a Paper Trading environment, you would have to check with them, and make sure that it replicates the real situation well enough to ensure you understand everything. I also heard that you may be obtaining/releasing some kind consolidated stock tape in the future with market depth. Do you have a timeline on when that might be ?
Yes, we are working hard on this, but we can not say exactly when we will have it done. All we can say is that it is a priority for us. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Is there a way to see how the NASDAQ Total View data functions on a DOM using Sierra SIM or just simply to see how the data is displayed ? Is there a way to trial that ? I thought at one time that data was free ? If not what is the cost ? Thank you |

The real-time data is not free. We do have Delayed Streaming Data that is 15 minutes behind the real-time data and acts like the real-time data in all respects. Refer to the following: Delayed Exchange Data Feed For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
