Hi,

I have sierra chart installed on multiple computers. i was wondering if there is an easy way to sync charts and files between different computers. i am trying to avoid having to send files to myself (either through sierra chart or other file upload sites).

i want to be able to update my chart books in one pc and have it sync for other pc/laptop instantly.

any advise is appreciated.

If you can remote access the other computer, then you can do instant copies of the files you need. You can also share a folder to the network, and do Map Network Drive from the other computer.

If you don't need instant access, or the two PCs are not reachable by each other for some other reason, like a company firewall, then you could set up a Onedrive folder (or another network drive), and keep a copy of your c:\SierraChart\Data folder, without the SCID files on it when you want to share to the other computer. (Don't try to run Sierra Chart from a network drive, just use it as a backup of your data folder. )

This free utility simplifies the process of keeping them in sync.

Then there are also thumb drives. Just remember if you forget to exclude the SCID (Sierra Chart Intraday Data) files it will take much longer, and isn't really necessary as Sierra Chart will download any trade data it needs.
