I am trying to use tick-by-tick data on the 1-minute chart for a footprint chart. However, it really struggles during high-volume events such as this morning (to the point where I had to force quit sierra chart). I also cannot load any more than 1 day. I am curious how I can optimize the system/software to run better. I do not want to reduce the tick-by-tick data, use a bigger time frame or load less data. It does not make sense that it would almost crash my computer considering I run bookmap with multiple days of the intraday tick-by-tick data flawlessly. Very confused as to why this software struggled so much when I heard it was a very lightweight software.

Tick by tick data is not the issue. We recommend starting here:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.48 - Basic Steps to Resolve Performance Issue in Sierra Chart

Even though Sierra Chart is lightweight, when it is processing massive amounts of data, and doing Volume at Price processing down to individual price tick levels, that is a problem and can put a very heavy load on a computer.

Here are more details:

I am still having occasional issues with it. I have noticed some days it will work flawlessly and other days it completely bogs down my computer with only 13% CPU usage on the programs side. It seems highly variable and inconsistent in operation. I have tried adjusting the update intervals, data loaded, turning off studies, etc. to remedy it. Very frustrating that I have to limit what I want to do with the program to make it work.

I noticed the program barely uses any memory. Are there limitations on memory causing memory swapping to create a larger CPU load? Is there a way to adjust this memory allocation?
