i know from the Numbers chart that SC has the data. I just haven't seen a chart type that will graph the cumulative net Delta (Ask Volume - Bid Volume) as it progresses over time. If Delta is the net buying/selling activity at a single price, then Net Delta is the balance of Buying/Selling at every price within a specified time period (5 minute candle??). Cumulative Net Delta is then the progression of Net Delta over time. How would i chart this in SC ? Time - delta - cumulative net delta 0 +500 +500 (500 was bought) 1 +500 +1000 (another 500 was bought) 2 +500 +1500 (another 500 was bought) 3 -300 +1200 (300 was sold) 4 -800 +400 (800 was sold) 5 -800 -400 (another 800 was sold) My 1st attempt to create this chart was to 1st add the "Cumulative Delta Bars - Volume" study to a futures chart. This chart had both positive and negative Delta volume candles, which is a good thing..indicates there is both net buying and selling in different candles. Then i added the "Cumulative Sum of Study" study to my chart, and i set the source study = "Cumulative Delta Bars - Volume" So, the cumulative study should be charting the progression of the Delta Volume Bars. However, the cumulative study is not moving in the same direction as the Delta Volume Bars. So, when the Delta Bars are negative (indicates net selling) the cumulative study is still moving in the positive direction (which does not make sense - when Delta Volume Bars are negative, the Cumulative Study should go DOWN by the amount of the Delta Volume Bar). any ideas?? i was looking at a 30min chart of ZNM4 (10yr treasury futures), but it should work for any timeframe Cumulative Delta Bars - Volume = Volume traded at the ask price (aggressive buyers) minus volume traded at the bid price (aggressive sellers) for every price in a particular time candle. If the result is positive, then there were more aggressive buyers than sellers. This is straight forward. If i just want to see the net result of the aggressive trade activity, the Cumulative Study of the Delta Volume Bars should do this....Doesn't this make sense? |

If you just want to see the difference between the ask volume and the bid volume for an entire trading day, then just use the Bid Volume Versus Ask Volume study and set the chart bars to 1 day per bar.
