Current versions for both, but shared chartbook i send comes back as blank

trying to help a friend. We are both on newest sierra, i sent him a chartbook, and it comes back as blank. Data feed is correct, all his older chartbooks work fine, symbol is fine. What gives? sharing chartbooks used to be so easy. now it seems like it has a hard time for some reason. Is there a new feature that needs to be checked? the charts open but everything comes back blank charts

Make sure the symbols are correct. Have them select Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service when the Chartbook is open. If there still is a problem: Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log: Message Log: Clearing the Message Log Open a chart for the symbol you have an issue with. Tell us that symbol of the chart. Disconnect from the data feed with "File >> Disconnect". Connect to the data feed with "File >> Connect to Data Feed".
