I have a footprint chart and a tape along each other, but it looks like the tape is not displaying accurate informations. Whenever there is a sell pressure for example and the footprint chart shows 100s lot printing, the tape does not translate the same image. I attached an example in the attachment below Note: I set up the tape to DO NOT COMBINE option with a filter to show 10 lots and above. |

First thing to understand is that the values in the Large Volume Trade Indicator are not individual trades. They are the sum of all the trades at that price that are above the threshold that has been entered. For example, if you enter a threshold of 49 and you get trades of 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 then the indicator value will be 260 (50 + 60 + 70 + 80 = 260). Refer to the information for the Large Volume Trade Indicator here: Large Volume Trade Indicator: Inputs Second, to make as close a comparison as you can, you would need to have the same threshold values for the Tape as you do for the Large Volume Trade Indicator. And you would also need to ensure that you have the same combining options - either combined or not combined, but make sure the option for Chart Settings >> Chart Data >> Combine Trades into Original Summary Trade is set properly to match the Time and Sales setting. Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Combine Trades into Original Summary Trade (Data Feed and Exchange Specific) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Chart Data >> Chart Data menu) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
