Hi, I'm a long time user of SC and I'm pretty happy with it. One of the thing that I liked the most over the years has been the lightness and therefore speed of the software. Lately with the last updates I noticed a slowdown of the platform, especially when I drag the chart inside its window. -Yes I have many charts, yes I use a new instance for the dom and lower TF -yes I have followed SC suggestion for improving performance and It worked a bit -the cpu is working at 29-30% so it shouldn't be a problem memory at around 35% The thing I've noticed is that if I disconnect the datafeed all the charts become again fluid with dragging.. connection is ok I have Denali +CQG for execution (waiting AMP will put available Teton) What could it be? and what could be done? I've noticed it worsening with the latest updates.. tks regards R. |

It is not likely to be related to the newer versions. Refer to: High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.44 - Performance Differences Between Versions of Sierra Chart You need to go through the instructions here: High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.48 - Basic Steps to Resolve Performance Issue in Sierra Chart You need to go through a process of elimination. To find out what chart is causing the problem you need to close one chart after another until the problem goes away. It should be the other way around where you would use a Trading DOM in the main instance not a sub instance: yes I use a new instance for the dom
And do the charting in sub instances. Yes it can be a problem: -the cpu is working at 29-30% so it shouldn't be a problem Refer to:High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.37 - Determining CPU Load from Sierra Chart Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. tks for the support imputs. I have divided chart into one more chartbook because actually I don't need to see all of them at the same time, and performance improved, cpu usage is still at around 30% (is it too much?) but charts are more fluid and can be dragged easily. One additional New istance with only dom, heatmap and footprint goes flawlessly. But I'll continue to investigate to improve it more. regards R. |
