I have interactive brokers as my broker but paid for the denali data. Someone from support helped me set this all up over the phone and my data is set to Interactive Brokers so my broker software has to be open and I have to be logged in to use my data through SC. I dont want to do that. Its annoying. Since I'm paying for Denali data why should I have my data set to Interactive Brokers. How do I set my data to Danali? I dont see it in the list for data settings. I'm connected to SC data feed but why do I have to have my Interactive Brokers software open and logged into also? I'd rather not have the two connected to each other. Thanks

If you are wanting to trade through Interactive Brokers, then you need to have the IB software running in order for Sierra Chart to connect to it. It does not mean that you are getting data from Interactive Brokers. As long as the option for Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support For Sierra Chart Data Feeds is set to Yes, then you will be getting real-time data from the exchanges that you have activated with us, from us (in your case, this is the CME Group data).

If you are not trading from Sierra Chart, then you can disconnect from Interactive Brokers, but you will need to connect at least once a month in order to verify your account for the CME Group requirement that allows you to pay the non-professional exchange fee. Refer to the following:
Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Connecting Only Once a Month to Trading Account to Support CME Group Exchange Fees

Ok, thanks. I'm not trading through sierra charts and right now do not plan to. It seems my SC wont work without me logging into IB before opening SC.
How do I get SC to run without having to open IB? Thanks.

You will need to set the Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Main Settings >> Current Selected Service to SC Data - All Services. Then select OK to close out that window. When it asks you to update the Symbols, you will want to say "Yes".

In this setup, you will not be connected to IB, so you do no need to have the software running. Instead, you are just connecting to our servers for data. Keep in mind the symbols are different, but selecting the "yes" above will update the charts you had open at that time. If you need to update others, then open your Chartbooks and select Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service.

Again, just make sure that once a month you connect to your IB account by following these instructions:
Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Connecting Only Once a Month to Trading Account to Support CME Group Exchange Fees
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:

I had the same issue as AmberNinja Couldnt figure why IB TWS had to be going for SC to work . I just upgraded from the old Level 5 to the new enhanced 11 with Denali Feed yesterday . On a separate note IBKR had an issue about 2 weeks ago. As soon as I opened Sierra , IB TWS froze up , to the stage I couldn't even close it . I had to reboot the PC. happened a few times and missed the first 30 mins of the day . I eventually got it going by closing some chartbooks etc and thought I had fixed it , but the next day it was the same . I finished up calling them and they said they had had some issues with the API on the newest version . He had me change to stable from latest version and it worked fine . I had been meaning to upgrade anyway so that was the impetus to do it
One question . Before I did upgrade , I was still getting the M on my ES charts , even tho it was running off IB . I didn't have a sub to Denali or the exchanges activated
Was this because I had -Allow support for Sierra Chart Data feeds set as YES ?

Makes no sense to us. Unless we could verify everything you say, what you say could not be true. You should not have seen the [M] indicator for ES futures under the described circumstances.

I dont know, I cant replicate it now without going back to IB feed . I should have taken a snapshot of it , But I'm pretty sure that M was there
Anyway I got it all working fine now with the Denali feed and really liking it especially for market depth , plus I see now how to run Sierra without having TWS open if I only want to replay or set up charts over the weekend
Thanks Again
