I had Sierra package 5 with real-time CQG data provided by AMP (my broker) for a few years. I was unable to trade for 3 months recently but renewed Sierra with package 5 last week. Apparently while I was gone Sierra changed pricing and when I got package 5 Sierra gave an error and no charts worked (as I remember) with my CQG data. I figured out package 10 was needed with external data so I moved to that and all was well, except my volume profiles charts (TPOs is what I think Sierra calls them.) Now I see I need package 5 with internal data or package 11 to use external data. So two questions: what is the best (read cheapest) option to get my profile charts working since I’m a few days into service this month? And secondly, what should I do going forward? I don’t care too much about who provides data, just want it to be reliable, real-time, and work with a Sierra package that supports my profile charts. I assume I can get package 5 with real-time ES data provided by Sierra for $5.25/month and kill my CQG data, right? Happy to hear other, better options or corrections if I’m mistaken or missing anything. Is Thanks in advance for your help! |

First, you will need to be on Package 11 in order to use TPOs and connect to your CQG trading account. Second, we recommend using our Denali Exchange Data Feed, which, if you just need the ES Top-of-Book (no market depth data), then it costs $1.50. With market depth it is $11.00. And yes, you can stop the CQG data, so you would be paying the same amount whether you are getting CQG or Denali data, and with the Denali data you have access to our historical data going back many years. -- To change your package, follow these instructions: To change your Sierra Chart Service Package, select "Help >> Account Control Panel" on the Sierra Chart program menu. On the displayed webpage, click on the "Set Service Package for Renewal" link.
Or go to this page: https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=ServicesActivation You will need to login if you are not currently logged in. In the "Available Services >> Choose Usage Time Service Package" frame, select the Service Package that you want to set your account to. Press the "Set" button. The remaining service usage time on your account will be adjusted based upon the cost of the package you are changing to. If the new package is a higher-priced package, then the usage time will be reduced due to the higher price. There is no charge for changing your Sierra Chart service package. Only your Sierra Chart account usage time ending date is adjusted. When changing between Sierra Chart Service Packages, the usage time ending date on your Sierra Chart account is adjusted based upon the price differences between the package you are changing from and the package you are changing to. When changing to a higher priced package, your usage time ending date will be brought back closer in time. When changing to a lower-priced package, your usage time ending date will be brought forward further out in time. And then to setup the Denali Exchange Data Feed, follow the instructions at the following link: Denali Exchange Data Feed: *Setup Instructions: CME/CBOT/NYMEX/COMEX Exchanges* For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

So can't I go with package 5 if I use Denali for realtime data with market depth? That's $36 + $11, or $47 total, right? Or would I still need package 11 for some reason and have to pay $10 extra/month for package 11 vs. 5?

You have to be on Package 10, 11, or 12 (one of the Integrated Packages) in order to connect externally to your CQG trading account and to get the Denali data. You can not be on package 5 any longer for this. Since you state that you need TPOs, then you need to be on Package 11 or 12. Package 12 includes Market-by-Order data, so if you do not need this, then Package 11 would be what you want. Refer to the differences in the packages here: Description of Service Packages and Pricing: Integrated Packages For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
