I have been getting system unresponsiveness on my trading machine (i7-9750H 6 Core/12 thread, 16GB RAM, separate Samsung Evo SSD dedicated to SC, Geforce GTC 2060 graphics card) since Friday, fine for before that. I have run diagnostics and troubleshooting and cannot find any problem. I am not sure the cause and would love any help from Engineering, Support, or Users. I bought a new system i7-12700H 14 Core/20 thread, 16GB RAM, 1 TB SSD (only 1 for the whole system for now), Geforce 3060 graphics. Both systems have the Intel integrated graphics, as well as the Geforce dedicated graphics card, and I believe utilize a 'hybrid' mode running both graphics cards to output to different screens. My old system become unresponsive at times even without Sierrachart running, just after boot or at idle, or trying to close a basic small program like a VPN. Clicking a new program/window would not switch focus/do anything. I ran into the same problem while trading, and it became costly to be unable to exit a position. The strange thing is the new system is doing the same thing. It is brand new, much faster, and almost nothing is on it except some basic programs, and my entire old SC install, and both have Intel integrated graphics Nvidia Geforce GPUs in hybrid. CPU load remains low, along with GPU. ie, after boot, which is quick, the system does not seem responsive for 1-2 minutes to user input. After everything works again, running SC, intermittently, the non responsiveness comes back, ie cannot switch which SC instance/chart window is in focus. Mouse can still move, prices still update, but system won't respond to click to switch window/focus. The instance/chart window which is already active continues to remain active/work, but cannot switch to a new instance/window. What could cause this? Is it possible my SC installs which have a lot of old data, installs, chartbooks, etc have become corrupted somehow and could cause this? is it likely something motherboard (seems unlikely on both machines) or graphics setup related? How can I identify the cause and fix without losing everything I've built over many years? Date Time Of Last Edit: 2022-07-26 17:21:18

I've isolated the problem to be outside of Sierracharts, but would still appreciate any help. It happens intermittently immediately after booting up. The strange parts are that the mouse can move, but cannot click on anything when it happens. Sometimes can type, sometimes cannot. And that the same problem occurred on both PC systems, one being brand new. Tested with touchpad and another mouse, and same problem. It goes away sometimes, but comes back again intermittently. |

We really do not know. If it is something happening outside of SC, then we do not know what it could be.
