Hi,

I am running low on space to store Data files (i.e historical data) on my PC.

Can I somehow change the location of the Data folder to have it in an external disk?

I have never tried, but pretty sure that is the right place

You can move just the "Data" folder, and as noted above, you would need to change the setting for the Path for the Data Folder and make sure you set the option for "Always Use 'Data' Folder Within Main Folder" to "No".

But, we do not recommend using an external disk unless you have a good connection to it in terms of speed. In other words, a standard USB connection would not give you the speed you would want given the amount of data that gets written and read from the disk while using Sierra Chart. If you can add an additional disk in your computer that would be best, particularly an NVME SSD disk.

Another option would be to move the entire Sierra Chart folder to another location. Refer to the following:
