Hello John, I saw that there is a way to have trades show across different instances. Can studies be shown across instances? For example: I want to have a number of screens for Analysis, Draw lines on a Daily chart, then switch to an instance with lower timeframe trading charts. I want the lines drawn on the higher timeframe Analysis chart to transcribe onto the new instance. Like the Copy Chart Drawings from Chart #'s in the Chart Settings. Thanks |

There is not an easy way to copy drawings or studies between instances. The only reason why trades will show in multiple instances is because the information comes from an external source and each instance picks up the information separately. The hard way to copy studies between instances would be to use the Study Collection and save it in one instance then copy it to another instance and then open that study collection in the second instance. So I found the way to "Copying Chart Drawings from Other Chartbooks" that works great. Now I want to be able to copy studies from other chartbooks. I duplicated a chart to a new chartbook with identical study settings but the new chart does not pick up the study links information from the other chartbook. Is there a way to do that?

As far as we can tell, the only reason there is a difference in the Volume by Price graph is due to the difference in the range of prices displayed between the two charts. The one on the right has a wider range, giving you more information in the VbP. You can verify this by having the charts have the same range of prices and then see if the profiles look the same or not. Volume by price is not what I was referring to. I'm referring to the Study price overlay to the right of bar chart. "Line at last bar to edge" area. the chart on the left has the horizontal lines while the chart on the right does not. I essentially want to have the duplicated chart in the new chartbook, pick up the information from charts in another chartbook. I want the study by price overlay to pick up information from parent charts in another chartbook. Because if I just duplicate the chart to another chartbook, I would have to create all new charts and link to the study by price study. I don't want to do that. I want my duplicated chart to give me all the same information as if it was in the original chartbook. I hope this makes sense |

You can't do what you want. You can not reference studies between chartbooks. So the Study/Price Overlay studies that you have on the copied chart in a new Chartbook do not have anything to reference, as they are trying to find a Chart and Study with IDs that do not exist in the new chartbook.
