Hello, When switching symbols on my Quoteboard, My trade DOM trade symbol does not change to respective Micro symbol. For example: I click on ESU2, Go into chart settings and change Trade and current symbol (Action) to MESU2. Then I will click on another symbol (GCQ2) and the trade symbol stays MESU2. So if I want to use my DOM, I need to manually change the Micro trade symbol to reflect Mini symbol. I'd like to be able to use my quote board to change the DOM while it automatically changes the trade symbol so as to not do it manually. |

The main item you want is to enable the option for Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trading >> Clear Trade and Current Quote Symbol On Symbol Change. Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Clear Trade and Current Quote Symbol on Symbol Change (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trading menu) There has also been a recent change to the Trade and Current Quote Symbol entry in the Symbol Settings, where you can use a pattern matching such as is used for the primary symbol. This way, you do not need to keep changing the Trade and Current Quote Symbol each time you move to a new contract. Therefore, for those symbols for which you always use a Trade and Current Quote Symbol, you will want to enter the value in the Symbol Settings and for those that you do not, you will want to leave that blank. This should work for what you are wanting then as you change the symbol on the Quote Board. Ok So I enabled "Clear Trade and Current Quote Symbol On Symbol Change" and that clears the Micro version when I change symbols through the Quoteboard. Great, that works. But I Don't understand the second part "enter the value in the Symbol Settings". What is the value that I'm supposed to be entering? What does the value represent? and where do I enter it? And I see nothing about pattern matching.

If you have a symbol for which you ALWAYS use a Trade and Current Quote Symbol. Then in the Symbol Settings for that symbol you would enter a Trade And Current Quote Symbol and you can use the Pattern Matching options (? and #). For example, let's say you always view the ESU2.CME symbol but trade the MESU2.CME. Then you would want to go to Global Settings >> Symbol Settings and find the entry for ES?#.CME and within that, find the Trade and Current Quote Symbol and enter a custom value of MES?#.CME. That way, whenever yo change the symbol for a chart to ESU2.CME (or ESZ2.CME, or ESH3.CME, etc.) then the Trade and Current Quote symbol will be the matching MES symbol (MESU2.CME, MESZ2.CME, MESH2.CME, etc.). Tangential to this inquiry, I know that sc.GetChartSymbol is exposed to be able to get the Instrument Name of a Chart, Is it possible to test for "Trade and Current Quote Symbol (Action)" under Chart Settings > Symbol and use this information in a custom study? I did some looking and wasn't able to find anything yet. Thanks again,
