Symbol ES, 1 minute chart, Start Time 09:30:00; End Time 15:59:59
New Bar At Session Start = checked

When time == 09:29:00
Behaviour - yesterdays data displayed, last bar is the 15:59 bar from yesterday

When time == 09:30:01 (first ES ticks have come through)
Behaviour - yesterdays data displayed, todays data displayed, last bar is the 09:30 bar from today, vertical scaling very skewed on day like today when price at 09:30 substantially different from yesterdays close
Expected behaviour - yesterdays data no longer displayed, only 1 bar from today displayed

Does this make sense? The charts are displaying more than the asked for "days to display" as new data comes in. The only way I've found to "fix" is to open chart settings, set days to load to a number other than 1, apply, then set back to 1.

The name given is days to display/load but it occurs that this is two different things. It is behaving like "days to load" and appending new data, not "days to display" which would cease displaying previous days data if set to 1.

If there are no plans to modify the way this feature behaves, I'd be grateful for any hints on coding a custom study to "refresh" the days to load on the first incoming tick after "Start Time".

Thanks.

If there are no plans to modify the way this feature behaves,
No definitely not. There are performance consequences to making this automatic.

The easy solution is to select Edit >>Reload All Charts. Or Chart >> Reload and Recalculate.
