if I have eg an hourly chart and this study set to "day", then when I switch the chart to day the study automatically changes to "month". Would it be possible to turn that off, or is it intentionally like this? for my personal use it is anoying as I just switcht to dayly for a short glance and then need to change the setting all the time... or probably it could change back to "day" again when shortening time period?

This is by design and this will not change.

The Time Period Type/Unit and Length is changed to valid values if they are not valid based on the current timeframe of the bars.

well, this would make sense to me if it would change back again, too.
What is the sense of this (and so far the only I found on SC doing so) to change a setting automatically? This makes only sense when I have a chart I use to change the time frames. if now the setting of the study adjusts to the time frame - well actually a nice feature I´d like to have with some other studies, too. But if it only adjusts in one direction, then what does that help? This only helps if I use eg an hourly chart then change it to daily and never change back.
dont you agree ??

1 Day is not valid on a Daily bars, but Monthly can be valid on an Intraday chart, so it cannot automatically go back.

We have now looked into this more closely. In the next release of Sierra Chart there will be a new input with the Volume Value Area Lines study to automatically correct an invalid Time Period Type. This should be set to No , to prevent this from happening.

thx!!
an other thing would be great for this study: possibility to choose the time period back for which the lines are drawn. Like I would prefer eg past 10 days to see the VPOC but not before (because too many lines on chart).
Just a nice to have ...

Would even be better if you could select an area to calculate like you can select the area to calculate a volume profile.

you could make this by using a normal volume profile and make the settings so that only the POC and what else you want to have is drawn. just as a suggestion.
