Is there any information in your Message Log as to why the file will not import? If so, then please put that information into this thread for us to take a look. Or try to do the import, then copy and paste your entire Message Log into this thread for us to see if there is specific information.

It seems to me nothing's wrong but the Trade Activity Log window stays empty.

One thing to be aware of is that you can only import order fills. It is only possible to export and import order fills. Not any other trade activity.

I did downgrade the SC to the version of 2351 then did the export... cleared the trade activity log... upgraded to the 2389... tried to import without success. I got back nothing. Not even a bit of info.
I did downgrade again to the version of 2351 and imported the trade activity log and I got my whole trade activity back.
Why can't I import trade activity log saved via older version of SC into a newer one?

There is a problem with trade activity log. When I'm done trading, it show all detail correctly in the trade activity log. Then I have saved it for the day. When I import it back into trade activity log, it does not show the correct time. The trade list and everything is there. The only problem is the timestamp of actual trade was wrong. It does not show on my chart. Is there a way to fix this?

There are two ways to save the Trade Activity Log. One is using File >> Save Log As and the other is to use File >> Export.

When you use Save Log As, it saves the time for the entries as you see them on the screen. When you use the Export option it saves the times in UTC.

When importing the data, we expect the information to be in UTC time, and then we do the conversion from that time to the time zone you have set in your software. As such, if you intend to re-import the data, you need to use the Export option.

Refer to the information at the following two links for these options:
Trade Activity Log: Importing and Exporting Data
Trade Activity Log: Saving to a Text File

Hi guys,

Im having trouble getting an imported trade to show as a fill on the chart. The bottom 2 rows are the trade that wont show on the chart.
The upper two rows are a trade I took through the chart DOM and shows up fine.

Are you able to see a difference between the two trade entries that may cause this issue?

Thanks

Addition: Does the ClientOrderID have to be unique for each trade across all markets?

Check the Trade Account. Most likely that is where the problem is but we cannot see it in the screenshot.

The client order ID is not even required at all.

I checked and the Trade Account is the same.

I'll give more color, I have two trading platforms, Sierra Chart and another. Im trying to import my trades from the other software so I can get the fills from both on the same chart. So I have put the other platforms fills in the exact same format txt file as Sierra Chart and imported but they won't appear on the chart.

I have made up a number for InternalOrderID, ServiceOrderID and FillExecutionServiceID and have correctly formatted the Open/Close and Internal Position boxes to be correct.

I must be either missing something, or this is not doable, please let me know?

Thanks

P.S. for what its worth Sierra Chart is a brilliant package and I should have moved sooner, you've built an amazing piece of software (well done). Ill be phasing out the other trading software but in the mean time if I can find a way to put both sets of fills on the same chart my review days would be very much shortened.

Make sure you do an Export of your Trade Activity Log first and then modify that file with the information from your other trading system. Then import that back. This will ensure it is in the correct format.

Also make sure you have a blank line at the end, the same way as when it is exported.
