Hi, My chart is set to 'number of trades per bar'. It is counting all the movements of the BID and ASK. Normally a tick chart is counting the transactions, then it is also counting when the price does not move. Is this possible in Sierra Chart? Thanks! Sandor |

What is the symbol of the chart? Sounds like you are looking at Forex symbol. In which case there are no such thing as "transactions". It is indeed the EURUSD. On other platforms(like Ninjatrader), I see the tick counter counting down while the price is not moving. On a 70 tick chart it should print a bar in about 30 seconds when the market is moving normally fast. On Sierra with a 70 tick chart it is now printing a bar in 10 minutes or so. Substantially lowering the amount of ticks per bar so that it will make a bar every 30 seconds or so, makes the charts very ugly and untradable. For Ninjatrader and Sierra I am using the same data feed from IB, so that does cause the difference. Thanks! Sandor |

We cannot speak about other programs but the way that Sierra Chart uses the IB forex data feed is that it averages the Bid and the Ask, when one of them changes and that is considered a trade.
