Hi support,

Could help to check whether the special management in Study/Price Overlay study to refer earlier data from OHLC study HL Avg line has been implemented?

Thanks & Regards,

No, this is not required. We are not really understanding exactly what the problem is in your case.

HL Avg is used to calculate the mid of the day which is an important level for my trading. Since special management in both High and Low in daily OHLC study are implemented in Study/Price Overlay study, I do not understand why the mid of High and Low do not do the same.

We are not understanding what the "special management" is that you are referring to. Can you give us more information, along with the specific issue you want resolved.

Refer to https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/StudyPriceOverlayStudy.php#DataChangingAtChartBarsEarlierThanBeingReferencedInSourceChart,

"
If you are certain you are encountering this problem and the Study/Price Overlay is referencing a built-in study that is changing at earlier chart bars, then let Sierra Chart Support know about this to see if we can implement special management for that particular study.
"

Is it some white list in the study needed to be updated, so that the specific study being referred will be updated for earlier bars?

We tested this, but we do not know precisely what the problem is. We did not observe anything unusual with the lines being overlaid. We were testing during a chart replay

When the day is making new low or new high, the high, low, and high_low_avg lines from daily OHLC study should be updated as horizontal line with new price and the overlay study which is referencing the high, low, and high_low_avg lines from daily OHLC should also be updated as new horizontal lines. However, only the high, low lines are horizontal lines but not the high_low_avg line.

There definitely should not be any problem with the lines within the Daily OHLC study Itself. Does not make sense that there would be.

If there is an issue with overlaying that study onto another chart, there can be an issue and we do not recommend overlaying the Daily OHLC study. There can be issues with that. And resolving them is very complex and that is definitely something we cannot help with.
