Hi there,

I find it disturbing when I click the NEW/OPEN CUSTOM STUDY FILES, and there's no nothing showing up. It used to open, but this only happen since today.

I can still open notepad++ from explorer but it's annoying. I just can't open files from the analysis tab.

Do you have any suggestion?

I also find it confusing that, given my program was installed on D drive, but on the message log it says on C drivee.

Created process C:\SierraChart\NPP\notepad++.exe. Current folder: C:\SierraChart\NPP | 2022-05-06 14:24:54.983
Created process C:\SierraChart\NPP\notepad++.exe. Current folder: C:\SierraChart\NPP | 2022-05-06 14:36:10.721

No idea why it becomes this and how to fix it

The editor that is used when you select New/Open Custom Study Files is defined under Global Settings >> General Settings >> Paths >> Text Editor Path and Filename. Make sure this is set to the editor you want to use. There is a Notepad++ that is sent with Sierra Chart and is located under the main Sierra Chart installation folder in a folder named NPP, so the path and file name would be [Sierra Chart Installation Folder]\NPP\notepad++.exe.

Refer to the following for more information:
General Settings Window: Text Editor Path and Filename (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Paths >> Files and Folder Paths)

Hi,

I noticed this option, and it's the default path which in my case is D drive.

I did have a SIERRA CHART folder in C drive, but it's not the program path that I am using. So, I moved the C drive folder. Then I got this msg.

Error creating process C:\SierraChart\NPP\notepad++.exe. Windows error code 2: The system cannot find the file specified. | 2022-05-07 00:11:11.079 *
Error creating the Advanced Custom Studies editor process. | 2022-05-07 00:11:11.079 *

So it's confusing that even the program path set to be on D drive but the msg log still shows a C drive. And in the general setting/path/editor, I am using the default notepad++ which is in D drive.

Thanks
