Hello, I have a group of traders I converse with and they use ninjatrader. Their 2000 tick chart looks different than mine causing different setups to be seen. Adjusting time sessions has not provided a solution. I am on the denali feed but, I'm new so maybe I have made a mistake somewhere. As you can see on the attached docs I have completely different candles yet we have the same tick chart. Any assistance is greatly appreciated, thank you. |

We can not help with comparisons to other systems. Refer to the information at the following link for some ideas of things to look into: Differences With Data and Chart Bars Between Services / Connections / Chart Types For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I've seen this issue popping off times and time again and I was also myself "suffering" from the tick difference. I even wanted to drop sierra altogether because of this. However, after trial and error I found success in matching the candles. In addition to the recommended changes in the link above, change also the session times. This fixed the sync for me (99%). In Chart-Session Times untick Use Evening Session and use the following start/end (in my case ES): Session Start Time: 18:00:00 Session Start Time: 16:59:59 Hope this helps. |

This is very difficult or impossible to achieve with charts using a Number of Trades per Bar: However, after trial and error I found success in matching the candles.

So, I'm using the ES chart using number of trades per bar (1000 and 2000). So, yes it is possible. However, exactly how others before me mentioned, it was out of sync with a couple of handred ticks before applying my below modifications. I was having issues being in sync with NinjaTrader charts (also ES) Default in sierra, for ES, we have the following options in SESSIONS settings: open: 9:30 close: 16:14:59 then evening sessions enabled and times: open: 16:15 close: 09:29:59 Somehow, after altering these as described in my previous post, my candles ARE in sync with ninjatrader 99.99% This is what I was trying to say and help future users who try to find a solution. I am using denali with IB (soon will migrate to teton with edgeclear) |
