Hi there, I saw somewhere that from April in order to use IB with sierra chart we have to use service package 10, 11, or 12. Currently I'm using service package 5 and I still have more than 2 months of paid usage time left. I don't use sierra chart connecting with IB for futures trading at all, all on equities. Do I have to switch service package to continue trading equities from sierra chart with IB? If so, how do I proceed with 2 month of service 5 left? Please advise, thank you!

You do not need to be concerned with any Service Package change at this time. If you are just using Sierra Chart for charting then you do not need to change Service Packages. Also for equities you should be using our Denali Exchange Data Feed and the new NASDAQ data feed which provides data for all US stocks: How to Use New NASDAQ Total View Data Feed This way you will be on service package 10 and saving money overall. If there is any concern about the volume data, that is going to be improved upon in about a month. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Thanks for your reply. I'm not just using Sierra chart for charting, but actually trading on it connecting with IB. So do I have to switch service package next month? If so what about my 2 months unused time on package 5? Please advise, thanks!

When the time comes where you would need to change packages, you can always change your current package and we then adjust the end date of your Usage Time based on the difference in the price of the packages and how much time you have left. For reference, here is the information on how to change your package: To change your Sierra Chart Service Package, select "Help >> Account Control Panel" on the Sierra Chart program menu. On the displayed webpage, click on the "Set Service Package for Renewal" link.
Or go to this page: https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=ServicesActivation You will need to login if you are not currently logged in. In the "Available Services >> Choose Usage Time Service Package" frame, select the Service Package that you want to set your account to. Press the "Set" button. The remaining service usage time on your account will be adjusted based upon the cost of the package you are changing to. If the new package is a higher-priced package, then the usage time will be reduced due to the higher price. There is no charge for changing your Sierra Chart service package. Only your Sierra Chart account usage time ending date is adjusted. When changing between Sierra Chart Service Packages, the usage time ending date on your Sierra Chart account is adjusted based upon the price differences between the package you are changing from and the package you are changing to. When changing to a higher priced package, your usage time ending date will be brought back closer in time. When changing to a lower-priced package, your usage time ending date will be brought forward further out in time. Thanks for your reply. Could you tell me what is the deadline to switch service package so i can still trade stocks on sierra chart with IB? Also, for the totalview data feed, the symbol format is IBM-NQTV, when I need to switch symbol on my chart, do i have to type the -NQTV after the stock symbol? Thanks! |

We do not have a specific date at this time. Also, for the totalview data feed, the symbol format is IBM-NQTV, when I need to switch symbol on my chart, do i have to type the -NQTV after the stock symbol?
You do need to include the '-NQTV' in the symbol name when you type it in. So you need to enter IBM-NQTV. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
