Performing Symbol Rollover changes Tick Size on charts!

Rolled over charts from H to M, and the tick size/tick compression set on all the charts was reset.

This is a huge issue, a major inconvenience, and not helpful in any way.

I know Sierra resets tick size on certain conditions, but Performing a Rollover should not be one of them.

Please address and fix this issue.

You can set the option linked below to prevent the settings be altered when changing symbol.

Chart Settings: Do Not Change Symbol Settings for Chart on Symbol Change (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol Settings menu)

Thanks for the tip. That setting might be good to set to prevent this issue, but breaks setting up a good chartbook for NQ then duplicating it for CL for example. Changing from F.US.ENQH22 to F.US.ENQM22 should not be a "symbol change" and cause all these settings to reset. I still believe Sierra should address this issue.

Also, please see this post for other conditions where tick compression settings break, such a duplicating a chartbook (no symbol change there), or if you give a chartbook to another user and they open it (no symbol change)

Duplicate Chart resets Tick Size and it should not

As you mentioned footprint charts in the other post, I would ask is there a particular reason why you would change the tick size on a footprint chart instead of using the volume at price multiplier?

VAP multiplier is not reset when changing chart symbol and the visual result is the same.

Thanks for the suggestion. I may have overlooked that and prob just out of old habits always used tick size. Will give this a go.

Well, that does not yield the same data in all cases.
Tick Size vs Volume at Price Multiplier aggregation method is different

And yes, this does have a material impact on how my custom studies work.

Well, that does not yield the same data in all cases.

Did you actually confirm that for yourself?

Or is that solely based on a near 3 year old post that, at least from my observations, is no longer accurate?

You are correct. It does appear that issue has been resolved from that old case.
