Recalculate Issue Using "SS Avg - Multiple" Study

I'm applying the same "On Balance Volume" study via "Study/Price Overlay" from several higher time frame charts to the "SS Avg - Multiple" study. As a consequence, the immediate result doesn't always match up with the true result that I get after recalculating (Control - Insert). In an effort to automate this I've set the "Chart Update Interval in Ms" from 0 to 2000 but got no resolve. Question 1) Is there a way to automate this so I'm not having to constantly recalculate? Question 2) And/Or, rather than struggle with "overlaying" several higher time frame charts as I'm doing, is there another way to create a synthetic higher time frame instance of the "OBV" study using any of the other studies within only one chart? I've tried using the divide, multiply, add, sum, etc studies but got no resolve. If I could create a synthetic instance of each of the higher time frames I would apply them to the "SS Avg - Multiple" study. BTW, providing a "Synthetic Higher Time Frame" study would be awesome! Or, is there something I'm missing? Thank you very much!

There definitely was a real change with this study. Maybe the change was not yet released in that version. We are going to do another release before morning.

If you still have an issue after updating to the next release, then go through the information here:

I'm applying 4 "Study Price Overlays" (of a study from 2, 4, 8, and 16 Aligned Renko Charts) to the "SS Avg Multiple"(which overlays the price region providing a divergence visual - Independent Scale) but on way too many occasions I get a blip in the "SS Avg Multiple" result. I've tried to correct this by right-clicking on the bar before the blip and selecting edit data which will fix the problem half the time. Of course, this takes valuable time waiting for the charts to download. How can this blip be avoided?

I've attached 2 Screenshots. One shows the blip and the other with the cyan magenta dots appearing correctly.

I have a few clients who have bought into this trading system. This is holding us back from making this tradable. I sincerely appreciate your help in finding a reliable solution!

We really are in a state of disbelief if you think we can make any sense of those screenshots.

It does not make any sense you would have to be editing data due to studies. There would be no such requirement ever. That does not make sense.

Sorry for the confusion... I moved the "SS Avg Mult" study to the lower region. I explained how I built this multi-timeframe study in my first post from earlier today. See the attached screenshot of the out-of-place cyan dots. Sometimes these are out-of-place magenta dots. I assume this is due to some kind of data error? Do you have any ideas how this can be avoided and/or fixed? I appreciate your input!

Are those "dots" being displayed by the Study/Price Overlay study?

Do you notice any change when you reload the chart with Chart >> Reload and Recalculate?

No, the dots are the result of the "SS Avg Multiple" study. I'm averaging 4 "Study Price Overlays" of the same study from 2, 4, 8, and 16 Aligned Renko Charts using the "SS Avg Multiple". Essentially, a study based on multiple timeframes.

When Reloading or Recalculating I do see a change but not always. I've included the Recalculate study to each of the charts which also works occasionally but slows down my charts.

I've noticed that the 2 Aligned Renko is often the culprit and I'll switch it to a 3 Aligned Renko which helps but not always.

None of these solutions promise to stop these out-of-place dots from happening. Too many times this occurs and nothing resolves the problem making my charts untradeable until the dot progresses to the left and out of view of the chart. This can take several minutes to an hour which is not practical.

I'm sure I'm not the first to apply this configuration in an attempt to create a multi-timeframe study. Am I the only one who is experiencing this?

The problem could be related to calculation order of studies:
Chart Studies: Study Calculation Precedence And Related Issues

Do you notice a change, with these "dots" when you select Chart >> Recalculate at the time you notice a problem. This is not a reload of chart data, but just a recalculate.

Yes, but not always. When it happens, and recalculate doesn't work, it can shut down trading for a good hour. That's my concern as this is part of a trading system I sell to other Sierra Chart users.

I do have all my SS Overlay studies listed first in order.

If you are using fixed timeframe chart bars and not Renko, then does this resolve the issue? If so, that is what we would recommend.

I wish it were that simple. After years of analysis, only the Renko Aligned (default) MTF charts provide the reliable divergence signals that this trading system is built on.

So, are we stuck?

This is definitely a complex set up and analyzing exactly why there is a problem is outside the scope of our support. The two things we recommend is to use fixed timeframe chart bars. Nonvariable time frame like Renko.

And set this input with the Study/Price Overlay study to Yes:
Study/Price Overlay Study: Fill Blanks with Last Value

We would not say that you are stuck. You can always implement a more advanced solution using ACSIL:
Advanced Custom Study Interface and Language (ACSIL)

You should definitely be able to come up with a solution but it is just too far beyond anything we can help with.
