Dear Support,

Currently I use Sierra Chart with data feed from TransAct. As recently I experienced some connectivity issues I'm considering transferring to other broker for continued usage of Sierra Chart. I own a live account with Interactive Brokers and I found IB on your supported brokers list. I'd like to use Denali data feed but not the Tenton order routing service. Here I have some questions.

1) My current Sierra Chart account ID is "TransAct_User_guo123". After switching to Interactive Brokers, do I need apply for a new Sierra Chart account, otherwise it may cause confusion ?

2) Inside Interactive Brokers' client portal, they allow me to subscribe to market data. If I subscribe to service package that includes Denali data feed and activate related exchanges, I don't need subscribe to any market data at IB 'cause it's redundant, right ? (they allow me to trade even if I don't subscribe to any market data).

3) When I log into Sierra Chart, which user ID and password should I input into the login window, the ones for my Interactive Brokers TWS platform or the ones for my Sierra Chart account ?

4) Years ago I used Sierra Chart with Interactive Brokers TWS data feed for a short period of time. As they didn't provide tick by tick data, all studies and charts that require tick data could not be used. Nowadays does the data feed still come from TWS ? If so how does Denali data feed come into play ? Does Interactive Brokers TWS data feed now support tick by tick data and tick charts and studies will work ?

5) I used a installation link provided by TransAct to install the current instance of SC. Do I need install a new instance for Interactive Brokers or I can use the current one just change the log in info ?

Looking forward to your response

Regards

1) You do not need to change your Sierra Chart account. You can use Sierra Chart with any of our supported trading services.

But, if you want us to change your account name for you, we can do that. We would need you to open an Account Support Ticket making this request and letting us know what you want the new name to be and when you want us to make the change. You can access the Account Support Tickets here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=SupportTickets

2) If you are not going to trade from within the IB software, then you do not need their data.

3) When logging into Sierra Chart you always enter your Sierra Chart Account Name and Password. The information to connect to your trading account is handled in the Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings.

When you are ready to setup the connection to Interactive Brokers, you will follow the instructions at the following link:
Interactive Brokers Trading Service: Setup Instructions

4) If you use the Denali data, then this is not a concern. You will get the Denali data and trade with Interactive Brokers.

5) If you are going to change completely to Interactive Brokers, then you would just use the same Sierra Chart installation. You should have an icon on your desktop to run Sierra Chart directly instead of having it start from the Infinity software.

But, if you plan on continuing to use TransAct AND Interactive Brokers with Sierra Chart at the same time, then you will want to install a second Sierra Chart for the Interactive Brokers connection. This way you have one installation that connects to TransAct and one that connects to Interactive Brokers. The information for how to do this is at the following link:

For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:
