Guys, the global P&L is locking me out again for the wrong reason, or no reason. I'm down $37 on the day, and my Loss Trigger Value is set at -200, but if I enable it, it locks me out.

Not sure if it germane to the issue, but the chart is set to RTY, while the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol:" is set to M2K. If calculated on the RTY, yes, I would have exceed the DLL. But calculated on the M2K I obviously have not.

Check your Currency Value per Tick to ensure that you have the correct value for the instrument you are actually trading. Refer to the information here related to this setting and using the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol":

Thanks John. I just figured it out. I thought it must have something to do with the tick value, and I kept working with the tick value on the chart from which I was trading. However, the Trade Activity Log is monitoring a different chart. I always trade from Chart #7, but just now realized the TAL is reading Chart #11. I corrected the tick value on that chart and it is working correctly.

There can be one or more Charts or Trading DOMs, based on settings and fill data loaded, which could be providing an inaccurate profit/loss value causing the problem.

How this feature works is documented here:
Global Profit/Loss Management: Introduction

Our recommendation is to stop using it. And ask your broker to take advantage of the daily loss limit functionality with the Teton Order Routing Service. Which we will also make user configurable as well.:

I did check with them last week and they said you/Phillips were still working on it and it wasn't yet available. I will check with them again.
Thanks again.

Why do you recommend to stop using the Global PnL Management feature?

The recommendation to stop using the Global Profit and Loss is in combination with using the Teton Order Routing service and then taking advantage of the daily loss limit functionality that will be part of the Teton Order Routing service.

If we are being asked questions about it, and the user does not understand how the calculations are done although they are documented, then our recommendation is not to use it because this is an indication there is a misunderstanding as to how the calculations are done. And we do not want you to use the functionality if you do not understand it.

And it should never be enabled when Sierra Chart is started because it can take time for the profit/loss values to be updated to the current day as historical data is being downloaded within charts. This is why it is meant to be disabled when Sierra Chart is started.

However, users do not use the option, which disables the functionality on startup. If you run into problems, this is because our advice has been disregarded.
