IntraDay Data

Currently using IB with Intraday Data Storage Time Unit of 1 Tick for US equities and SC Real Time for futures. Max Historical Intraday Days to Download is set to 186 for Non-Tick Data and 90 days for 1-Tick Data.

My question concerns the US Equity Data using IB. When I increase the number of days for 1-Tick Data, no new data is requested and the following appears in The Message Log:

Message from IB: HMDS data farm connection is inactive but should be available upon demand.ushmds. IB Error Code: 2107.

It seems I have to re-download everything in order to retrieve more intraday 1-tick data from earlier / farther back in time. Is there a way to refresh (request to re-activate that connection) so that I only request the incremental data?

I have tried altering the Use Number of Days to Display / Load in the Chart Settings, but it does not have any effect.
I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting to the Data / Trade service, but it does not have any effect.
I have tried exiting and restarting SC, but it does not have any effect.

The only solution seems to be to move the cursor to the earliest bar on the chart and use Delete and Download Data. This is obviously very time consuming because I re-download data that I already have. I am aware of Pacing Violations and so set my Delay Between Historical Data Requests to 10,000 ms to avoid an issues. Any advice you can offer to rectify this issue or an alternative work around would be much appreciated.

You have to re-download all the data to go back earlier in time. You have a very good understanding of how everything works already. We do not have anything else to add.

We will be adding US equities to the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed soon, so when that is available you just need to pay the exchange fees to get that data. When that is available, the problem will be solved.

SC Support,
1) Any ideas of timing or pricing for US equities?
2) As a short term solution for a quicker download, can I specify different Intraday Data Storage Time Units for different symbols? I don't necessarily need the granularity of 1-Tick for all symbols and can use 1 - 10 seconds in some instances.
3) If what is contemplated above is possible, can the same symbol have multiple .SCID data files depending on granularity of data? If so, how would they be differentiated, or would I have to manually rename the files?
Thank you.

1. US equities will be part of the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and you will only have to pay for the data feed itself, which you are already paying plus the exchange fees.

2. This will not make any difference in the case of Interactive Brokers.

3. This is not supported.

SC Support,
Thanks for your quick response. Regarding the SC Historical Data Service:
1) Can I access historical intraday data whilst connected to IB for trading?
2) Can I access historical daily data whilst connected to IB for trading?
3) If the answer to either (1) or (2) is yes, could you please provide further details?
Appreciate your help.

1, 2. Refer to this section here:

2. There is nothing special to do. This already happens.
