Good morning, I am having issue with the 2 indicators mentioned in the title. Once you open up their own settings, you get the chance to modify the "graph draw type" into many different things. I want mine to be shown as OHLC Bars, for both CDB and A/BV indicators. However, there's no way I can have them like I want them to. I just get 2 plots on the chart, one representing the open and one the close of the hypothetical bar (please notice the lower chart region on the attached file). I have the same problem even if I want them shown as candlestick bars (please see pic N.2 attached) Why am I gaving this problems? There are just a few settings to "mess up" with and none of them work. Can you please help me out? Thanks, Fabio |

The reason why the OHLC bars are showing like they are is because the Candlesticks are not displaying any wicks for the High/Low. And for the one bar's information that we can see, the Open, High and Low are all the same. This should not be the case, so this is what needs to be figured out. We see that the study in the region above is giving an error (NaN is shown in the scale, which means a divide by zero occurred). If you remove that region and the study in it, do things look any better? Johnn, thanks for coming back to me. The 2nd region you see on the chart was just there because I was trying to figure out something related to this problem (where you see "NaN" I had the same indicator (this time hidden) combined with another indicator - horizontal lines) hence why you saw NaN. I'll send you a clearer picture so to avoid any confusion with my testing etc. Also, I have the same exact issue with a similar indicator - Ask/Bid Volume Difference Bars Please find attached both pictures so you can see both. PS: I removed the chart region where you saw NaN but nothing changed whatsoever. What can this be? Thanks, Fabio |

We had seen some odd behavior previously with a region causing trouble, so we wanted to rule that out. We do not know why you are seeing what you are. We just want to confirm that your data is the Delayed Streaming data, correct? We would need to see your chart to see if we can figure out what is occurring. Refer to the instructions at the following link to get us your chart: Support Board Posting Information: Providing Chartbook with Only a Single Chart For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Hi John, Yes, I am using the Delayed Streaming for this testing. However, I was playing around to see if I could come up with a solution to this problem. So, I decided to open up a brand new chart from file--> new/open intraday chart. On this, I added only the 2 indicators I mentioned above (such as Ask/Bid volume and cumulative delta volume). On this brand new chart, the indicator(s) opens just right (Please see pic 1) At this point, I started to remove one by one any indicator I had on the charts where I have the issue with this indicators so to be able to understand which one was the cause. Eventually, I saw that I had an indicator called [CBV][M] (to be correct on my chart is ESH22-CME [CBV][M]). This is the cause of the problem. Removing this indicator solved the issue I had. Now, my question is: what is actually this indicator for, considering that I have never added it to my chart in the first place? If you go in its settings, there are actually no settings at all (please see pic 2). Also, if you look for it in the list of the studies available, there isn't a single one called like that. Removing it, nothing changes whatsoever in the chart, apart from solving the issue. Thanks for your help, Fabio |

The [CBV][M] symbols are simply noting that you are using a Continuous Futures Contract with Back-Adjustment based on Volume ([CBV]). Refer to the following: Continuous Futures Contract Charts: Text Indicator Description Table And the [M] indicates that you are getting your data from us (Sierra Chart). Refer to the following: Data/Trade Service Settings: Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds (Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Common Other Settings) Therefore, these should not have had any impact on the indicators. Also, what did you do to "remove" these? For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Well, this is getting interesting then... To remove it I just highlighted this setting and clicked "remove" from the study settings menu. From that moment on, the indicators started to work as per setting chosen (such as displaying OHLC or Candlestick Bar). Let me know if you need me to send more screenshots or something so to figure out what's going on. Thanks, Fabio |

Ok, we understand. We do not know what that study is, as it does not have any Inputs listed. It is just taking the name of the chart as the study name. But the real reason it was causing issues is because it has the option for Display as Main Price Graph.

Alrighty then. Let's say that the problem is solved :) However, if you untick the option "Display as Main Price Graph", the main chart area will appear empty even if you change the chart region or whatever. But anyway, luckily the issue jas been solved. Thanks for your help, John. Have a great day ahead |

If you untick "Display as Main Price Graph" and your main chart area is not showing anything then there are few things to check on. First - ensure that you have a Draw Style for your chart selected other than "Blank". Go to Chart >> Chart Draw Type and make sure that one of the draw styles is selected and not blank. Second - the scaling may be off. Right click on the scale and select Reset.
